23 July 2011
Sunday 10 July dawned cold, wet and windy. The weather had an impact on number of entries with only 44 karters making the call to get up and take on the challenge of round 1 of the 2011 Kartsport Manawatu Club Champs. Those that made this call faced 1 properly wet heat, 1 damp heat, and were then rewarded with 2 heats and a final in dry, sunny, and fast conditions.
Even though the fields were relatively small there was excellent racing across all classes. The wet and changeable conditions caught a few people out and it was fairly clear that not many practice racing in the wet!!
